Basic Horse mounts will be available to most players early in the game. In addition to increasing travel speed, a hours will also increase the carrying capacity of the player, and can even participate in combat. Many different types of mounts will be available depending on level and location. Your horse will even participate in combat after you dismount to engage the enemy.

Although it won’t be available at launch (and in truth may not be available ever), the Vanguard team is very interested in implementing mounted combat. They’re still stumped on how to do this.
