Sigil is spending a lot of time and energy to make sure that the Vanguard economy runs smoothly for the enhanced enjoyment of all players. They’re dedicated to staving off “mudflation,” the rapid increase of available items and coin through questing.

They’re doing this in part through the use of “work orders” to help people level crafting. A work order will be given to a player by the crafting trainer along with some of the items needed to construct the requested items. The player will then make the needed items, and give them to the trainer. This way, they do not generate hundreds of unwanted items while leveling their craft.

Also, Sigil is working to reduce the impact of “farming” the practice of high level characters hunting profitable monsters well below their level.

Through these practices, the economy of Vanguard should remain balanced. This should allow hunting to remain useful, but also increase the profitability of crafting at all levels. This has become a problem with past games, as players just trying to level their craft have had to spend more coin than they could make.
